In the spirit of love celebrated globally every February 14, this year 2021, Okolo Cajetan Foundation for Orphans and Less Privileged (OCF) spent the day reaching out to over 1000 people in and around major cities in Anambra State.
From the suburbs of the state capital to the buzzing metropolitan area of Ekwulobia and Agulu, the OCF team led by the Director, Engr Cajetan Okolo handed out cooked food, drinks and clothes to road side beggars, the indigent ones, the sick and others alike.
Speaking on the gesture, Engr Okolo stated that it was in the nature of the group to celebrate such memorable days with those who need love the most, namely, the lowly of the society.
While thanking the OCF partners for their contributions in ensuring these ones wear smiles on their faces on Valentine Day, Engr Cajetan enjoined all and sundry to form the habit of reaching out beyond their immediate circle to the indigent members of the society.
“When we show love to these ones who need it the most, it makes our society a better place for all. We need each other as a people and our enjoyment is never complete if there is anyone anyone around us is not enjoying alongside,” he said.
While a team covered Ekwulobia, Oko, Nanka and Agulu, another group covered Awka and the environs and their gestures were received with excitement and glee. It was a plethora of smiles, and invocation of blessings on the team from the beneficiaries.
